These are the future federal ministers of the FDP

FDP party leader Christian Lindner is to become the new federal finance minister in the traffic light coalition. Even during the coalition negotiations, Lindner had made it clear that the finance department was of central importance to the Liberals. The Greens had also expressed their interest in the influential ministry. At the presentation of the coalition agreement, Lindner emphasized that Germany would remain “the advocate of solid finances”. The new Minister for Transport and Digital is to be the FDP General Secretary Volker Wissing. Wissing is also chairman of the Rhineland-Palatinate regional association and played an important role in the coalition negotiations. The 51-year-old lawyer has announced enormous change processes. A balance must be found between climate neutrality and the need for mobility. The Ministry of Justice is to be taken over by the First Parliamentary Managing Director of the FDP, Marco Buschmann. The 44-year-old lawyer has not ruled out the introduction of a general compulsory corona vaccination in the long term. At the same time, however, he referred to difficult questions regarding the feasibility and organization of such a compulsory vaccination. The designated Minister for Education and Research, Bettina Stark-Watzinger, is hardly known to the general public. The 53-year-old is the head of the FDP in Hesse. She wants to work to ensure that the federal government has more powers in the field of education policy. It also wants to improve cooperation between the federal and state governments.
