Video: Selenskyj criticizes the oil price cap as too high

STORY: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj has expressed his disappointment with the price cap for Russian oil agreed by the G7 countries and the EU. In his evening video address, Zelenskyi said $60 is “still quite comfortable.” It will hardly deter Russia from waging war against Ukraine. Selenskyj spoke of a weak position. “It is only a matter of time before stronger means have to be resorted to. And it is a pity that this time is being lost.” Ukraine had demanded a price cap of $30 per barrel – the equivalent of 159 liters. Russia, in turn, criticizes the upper limit, which should apply from Monday, as dangerous. A spokesman for President Vladimir Putin said on Saturday that the cap would “not be accepted”.
