Poland sees the danger of war in Europe with a view to the Ukraine crisis and the tensions with Russia currently greater than it has been for 30 years. Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau told the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) on Thursday: “We should focus on a peaceful solution to the conflict in and around Ukraine, along the lines of the Minsk Agreement and the fullest respect for Ukraine’s sovereignty and integrity its internationally recognized borders. ” Poland is advocating tough stance against the government in Moscow within NATO. Russia has gathered around 100,000 soldiers on the border with Ukraine. The West fears an invasion, which the government in Moscow rejects. However, Russia is demanding security guarantees from NATO, including a promise that Ukraine will not be accepted into the transatlantic military alliance. NATO rejects this.
