Video: Madrid: Letter bomb injures Ukrainian embassy staff

STORY: Spanish investigators on Wednesday after the detonation at the Ukrainian embassy in Madrid. A security guard there was probably injured by a letter bomb addressed to the ambassador. An explosive device detonated when the employee was handling a delivered mail, the police in the Spanish capital said. He was slightly injured and was able to go to the hospital himself for treatment. The area around the diplomatic mission was cordoned off. A unit for the disposal of explosive ordnance was also on site. Spanish Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska said in Parliament that the injury sustained was at least minor. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba ordered security measures to be tightened at all of the country’s diplomatic missions abroad. The Spanish authorities have been asked to investigate the incident. According to the Foreign Ministry, Kuleba said whoever was behind the attack would not be able to intimidate Ukrainian diplomats or stop their daily work to strengthen Ukraine and resist Russian aggression.
