Video: Interview with Prince Harry: Only the truth can bring peace

STORY: PRINCE HARRY, DUKE OF SUSSEX “I don’t think we can ever be at peace with my family if the truth doesn’t come out. I can forgive a lot, but we have to talk about it to be reconciled. And that’s part of it also that responsibility must be taken.MICHAEL STRAHAN, ABC NEWS REPORTER “You write of a beloved brother and archenemy. Strong words.” PRINCE HARRY, DUKE OF SUSSEX “There has always been this competition between us. I think that too has to do with the issue of heir apparent and reserve and the role of the British press in that. They pitted the Waleses, who now include Kate and William, against the Sussexes, which is me and my wife. They always set us against each other. They set Kate and Meghan against each other.” MICHAEL STRAHAN, ABC NEWS REPORTER “How would her mother feel about your relationship with your brother?” PRINCE HARRY, DUKE OF SUSSEX “She would be heartbroken that it has come to this. I think it would break her heart that William, his staff, was part of these stories. William and I made a pact that we would never allow our offices to fight each other no matter what. MICHAEL STRAHAN, ABC NEWS REPORTER “Do you think he broke that pact?” PRINCE HARRY, DUKE OF SUSSEX “Yes. The people he employed broke that pact.” MICHAEL STRAHAN, ABC NEWS REPORTER “Some critics will say you make money off the conflict. So it’s almost like you sold your family.” PRINCE HARRY, DUKE OF SUSSEX “The only way I can protect ourselves and correct these untruths is to write about them. But I realize that even such a book ‘feeds the beast’ in a way.” MICHAEL STRAHAN, ABC NEWS REPORTER “Can you imagine yourself and your family returning to the UK and working as royals in the monarchy.” PRINCE HARRY, DUKE OF SUSSEX “I don’t think that will ever be possible. Even if there were some agreement or arrangement between me and my family, there would always be a third party who will do everything possible to ensure that that isn’t possible. And that’s really sad because it’s basically destroying the relationship between us all. If there is something in the future where we can continue to support the Commonwealth, then of course it’s something to think about..” “First has to there will be talks and responsibilities taken. If not then that would be very sad. But I will focus on my life, on my wonderful family for whom I am thankful. On my two children who were jumping around this morning when I I wanted to prepare for this. THAT was probably the preparation. You know, I’m not angry anymore. There are things that still make me angry, but I’m not angry anymore. I’m right there where I’m supposed to be.”
