In the end, over six tons of dough, over two tons of pizza sauce and nearly four tons of cheese went into making the pizza. 630,000 small slices of salami were then added. With a planned area of 1,300 square meters, the mega-pizza will be divided into more than 68,000 slices when completed, according to David Graves, president of the fast-food chain behind the record attempt. “The great thing is none of it goes to waste. We can donate it to some local food banks here in Los Angeles. We’re really excited about that.” The giant pizza was baked in stages from above.
