Video: Dispute over documents from Trump’s luxury property enters the next round

STORY: The legal wrangling over the documents confiscated from the luxury home of former US President Donald Trump is entering the next round. The US Department of Justice went before an appeals court on Friday to regain access to documents seized by the FBI in the Florida raid. With the application, the ministry is trying to overturn the decision of the US district judge responsible for the case, who was appointed by Trump. She had rejected the request for access to the documents and commissioned a special investigator appointed at the request of Trump’s lawyers to review the documents by November 30. If the decision stands, the Justice Department’s investigation is likely to stall. Trump is suspected of illegally taking government documents with him when he left the White House. During a search of Trump’s home, the FBI seized thousands of documents – including around a hundred classified items, some of which were classified as top secret.
