Delivery bottlenecks hit Apple
The iPhone models in particular, as well as Mac computers and iPads, are in demand at a time when more and more people are learning and working from home. However, the global supply bottlenecks are spoiling Apple’s business. The situation could get worse before Christmas, CEO Tim Cook told Reuters on Thursday. The chip crisis is now affecting most Apple products. In the last fiscal quarter, sales climbed – thanks in part to surging demand in China – by 29 percent to more than 83 billion dollars. And profits rose 62 percent to around $ 20 billion. According to Cook, however, the delivery bottlenecks in the quarter were greater than expected – as were production difficulties in Southeast Asia due to the Corona crisis. The outlook on the stock market was shocking. After hours, Apple shares fell five percent.
The situation will worsen again in the Christmas business, company boss Tim Cook told Reuters on Thursday.
