Victoria and David Beckham donate £1million to children in Ukraine. In an emotional Instagram post, the former footballer draws attention to the bad conditions on site and asks his followers for help.
David Beckham and his wife Victoria call for donations to Unicef. The former footballer feels “helpless” to see the terrible pictures from Ukraine and to be safe at home.
David and Victoria Beckham donate to Ukraine
An acquaintance of the couple told The Mirror newspaper that the Beckham donation was said to be £1million, made on behalf of the whole family. The commitment is intended to benefit the children in Ukraine and also encourage other people to also get involved with donations.
In an Instagram video, David Beckham tells how shocked he is to see the pictures of the fleeing children in Ukraine: “Children are snatched out of their beds at night to flee.” Russia has been at war in Ukraine for two weeks. “The needs of the families are increasing, there are around seven and a half million children at risk,” writes the soccer star in his description of the video.
“As a long-time Global Goodwill Ambassador,” the father of four knows how experienced the humanitarian aid organization Unicef is in deploying relief supplies in conflict situations pouring into the borders”, hoping to find refuge in neighboring countries.

“Victoria and I made a donation on behalf of our family to get the appeal going,” he confirmed in his Instagram post. David Beckham concludes the call to fans by saying: “We would be so grateful if you would join us in helping Unicef to support these innocent children. Please give what you can today.”
