The first of the two newcomers is Alhaitham, the archivist of the Sumeru Academy. The 5-star character, despite his “weak explorer” image, is adept with the sword, uses divine eyes with dendro power, and summons mirrors of light to smother his foes in a hail of brilliant attacks.
Yaoyao may be small, cute, and only a 4-star character, but Madame Ping’s student is a sly old school girl. She also has the divine eyes with Dendro power and goes into battle with her stuffed rabbit Yuegui and a pointed spear. Yaoyao is also a skilled supporter, using healing spells and buffs to keep her team fit.
Both Alhaitham and Yaoyao join the other Genshin Impact characters in the first half of 3.4, while the second half sees the return of two popular characters, Hu Tao and Yelan. This year’s Lantern Ritual also gives you the opportunity to secure one of the nine 4-star characters for free, including the announced Yaoyao.
