Verdi strike in Bavarian local transport: which cities are affected – Bavaria

The Verdi union has again announced warning strikes in local public transport in Bavaria. On Friday, public transport in several cities will be on strike all day, as the union announced on Wednesday. Municipal transport companies in Munich, Nuremberg, Augsburg, Landshut, Bayreuth, Schweinfurt, Bamberg and Regensburg are affected. The warning strike includes buses, trams and subways. S-Bahn and regional trains are not affected. In Augsburg, the strike is expected to last from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.

In five rounds of negotiations, unions and employers have so far failed to reach an agreement on a new collective agreement in local transport (TV-N). “These warning strikes are the logical consequence,” said the negotiator and deputy regional manager of Verdi Bavaria, Sinan Öztürk. Among other things, Verdi is demanding higher wages. In Bavaria, the collective agreement TV-N applies to local transport, which is negotiated separately from other public services or the railways.
