As the facility informed in a press release on Wednesday, passers-by were approached in front of supermarkets in Vaterstetten and Baldham and asked for donations that were supposed to benefit the table. The Tafel Vaterstetten-Grasbrunn, sponsored by the local neighborhood help, points out that this is fraud. There are currently no official collection campaigns in front of shops in the club area. “We suspect that the alleged fundraisers are on the move with fraudulent intent and want to sneak in food,” explains Monika Klinger, department head of neighborhood help and responsible for the Vaterstetten-Grasbrunn food bank.
According to Klinger, employees and fundraisers for the local food bank always carry ID cards with them, which they are happy to show. The passes show the logo of the neighborhood help and the Vaterstetten-Grasbrunn panel. In addition, campaigns would be announced in the media and on the Neighborhood Help website and accompanied on site by a large-format display with the local food bank’s poster.
