Vaterstetten: The future of the theater – Ebersberg

The internationally successful director and artistic director of Munich’s Gärtnerplatztheater, Josef E. Köpplinger, talks about current challenges.

How can a stage be successful today? Which plays attract the audience? And what does the future of our theater culture look like, given the challenges of globalization and digitization? The internationally successful director and artistic director of Munich’s Gärtnerplatztheater, Josef E. Köpplinger, is now asking these and other questions at a hybrid event in Vaterstetten: Next Tuesday, March 7th, at 7.30 p.m. he will have a conversation with the musician and musicologist Angelika Tasler.

Josef E. Köpplinger was born in Lower Austria. He studied at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna and attended seminars in New York and London. He received his first permanent engagement at the Municipal Theater in Regensburg. His directing career took him from Vienna via Germany to Switzerland, France, England, America and Japan. His repertoire includes all genres from drama and opera to operetta and musicals. For the 2012/2013 season, Köpplinger took over the management of the Gärtnerplatztheater

Following the interview, which will also be broadcast online, the audience will have the opportunity to meet in person. A young piano virtuoso from the Ukraine, who is currently taking lessons at the music school in Vaterstetten, also offers a live musical experience. Maps are available from AP Buch and Lontz Papeterie in Baldham and from the bookstore (Harm) in Vaterstetten. Admission is €10 (free for under 18s). The event is a cooperation between VHS and music school.
