Outgoing president of the Ile-de-France region Valérie Pécresse, candidate for her re-election in June, has promised that she will not make an alliance with the Macronists in the first or second rounds, after the controversy over the withdrawal of the LREM list for the benefit of Renaud Muselier en Paca.
“We must not make a device alliance (…) I will not do it, neither in the first round, nor in the second round,” defended Valérie Pécresse (Libres, ex-LR) on LCI. “I will not have an alliance with LREM”. For Paca, Prime Minister Jean Castex himself announced on Sunday a withdrawal from the LREM list in favor of Renaud Muselier. The latter, however, rejects any “device agreement”, “alliance” or “merger”.

“The right has something to say about how we manage a region, how we manage a country too,” added Valérie Pécresse, whose name is circulating as a possible candidate for the presidential election. The party of the presidential majority has invested the deputy of Val-de-Marne Laurent Saint-Martin in the race for the presidency of the first French region on the occasion of the regional election organized on June 20 and 27.
Sweeping aside the hypothesis of an alliance with the “walkers”, Valérie Pécresse however argued the presence on her list of right-wing personalities who support Emmanuel Macron such as Delphine Bürkli, the mayor of the 9th arrondissement of Paris, or Frédéric Valletoux, the mayor of Fontainebleau.
A “threat” from the left?
She also mocked the “common house” of the centrist parties supposed to support the action of Emmanuel Macron. “In Ile-de-France, the common house is crumbling. The Modems in the field, the Actors in the field joined me. In Ile-de-France, it is LREM which is crumbling, ”she underlined.
Asked about the political equation with which Renaud Muselier is confronted in Paca with the serious hypothesis of a victory for the RN, Valérie Pécresse argued that in Ile-de-France, the “threat” was not embodied by the National rally but by an “alliance of the left with the extreme left”.
An alliance “with people with indigenous, Islamo-leftist, waning sympathies. The risk in Ile-de-France of extremes, there are also extremes allied to the left which has lost its republican compass, ”judges the President of the Region.
