The state of Lower Saxony and the district of Friesland are offering an expense allowance for 10,183 people who are re-vaccinated after the Schortens vaccination scandal.

Those who have to repeat a vaccination because of the incidents are to receive 35 euros, and 50 euros for those who have to be vaccinated twice. For this, those affected must submit an application. The application form is available as a PDF file on the Homepage of the district of Friesland ready for download. It must be filled in, printed out and signed and can be sent to the district by email or post. Alternatively, the form can also be picked up in paper form from the cities and municipalities. According to its own information, the district is currently also working on an online form that will be available at the end of next week.

Extra costs can be claimed

The district of Friesland takes care of the bureaucracy and payments, the state of Lower Saxony provides the money. The expense allowance should be a quick help so that those affected by the vaccination scandal do not have to take the arduous legal action against the nurse or the DRK, said District Administrator Sven Ambrosy (SPD). “I would like to expressly thank the state of Lower Saxony that we can offer this unbureaucratic solution together,” said Ambrosy. If you want to claim higher costs, you have to prove this. This can include loss of earnings and childcare costs, said the district administrator.

Different flat rates also due to telephone costs

More than 1,200 people are entitled to an expense allowance of 50 euros for two post-vaccinations, as a spokeswoman for the district announced on Friday at the NDR request. The fact that the amount of the lump sum for the third and fourth vaccination is different is due, among other things, to telephone costs. These would only arise once when assigning appointments for the vaccination appointments. The lump sum was developed based on the case law in civil law, the spokeswoman said.

Thousands of follow-up vaccinations have already taken place

A total of 10,183 people were asked to be vaccinated again. According to the district, they have so far reacted as follows:

  • around 4,400 people in the Friesland district were vaccinated a third time
  • four people were vaccinated a fourth time in the Friesland district
  • 627 people in the Friesland district have appointments for a fourth vaccination
  • around 3,000 people have had themselves re-vaccinated in vaccination centers in other counties or with resident doctors
  • around 2,000 people have not yet registered

At least six syringes with insufficient vaccine

A nurse had stated that she accidentally broke an ampoule of vaccine at the Friesland vaccination center in Schortens in April. To cover up her mistake, she withdrew the vaccine residues from other ampoules into six syringes. At first it was said that she had only injected saline solution into the people concerned. At least there was obviously not enough vaccine in the syringes. Witnesses interrogations had shown that there was possibly too little vaccine in far more than six syringes.

Was the nurse critical of vaccination?

The district of Friesland has so far asked the aforementioned 10,183 people to be vaccinated again. It is still unclear exactly how many people are affected. The police had set up the “vaccine” investigation team in August. It is based in Oldenburg and supports the police in Wilhelmshaven. The police do not rule out a “critical stance on the subject of vaccinations” as a motive of the accused nurse. She is said to have shared posts on social media. She had rejected such a motive through her lawyer.
