Usain Bolt apparently loses millions in investment fraud – Panorama

The sprint star from Jamaica recently had 12.8 million dollars in his account, now suddenly there are only 12,000 left. The fastest man in the world has apparently been taken in by scammers. He wouldn’t be the first athlete whose fortune doesn’t last long after retirement.

It was early Monday afternoon in Kingston, Jamaica, when Usain Bolt got back in touch with his fans. Almost twelve million people follow the former sprint star on Instagram, plus around five million on Twitter. Normally, the 36-year-old is quite talkative on social networks, including Christmas greetings and good wishes for the New Year. But in the past few days it had become quiet. Instead of happy messages only cryptic messages: completely black images, Photographs of law books or now Bolt himself in black and white, looking angrily at the camera. “Look me in the eye, tell me what you see, can you feel my pain?” is written underneath, a quote from a song by the Jamaican reggae and dancehall musician Bounty Killer, which also says two lines later: “The only friend I know is my gun.”
