Expensive view of Central Park: US billionaire Daniel Och has sold his New York penthouse for $ 190 million – double what he paid for it in 2019.

Almost 190 million dollars (165 million euros) for a penthouse apartment above Central Park: The Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday that the previous owner, the US billionaire Daniel Och, his 900 square meter luxury apartment on the top floor of a skyscraper in the US metropolis New York at a large profit.

According to this, Och bought the four-bedroom apartment in 2019 for $93 million. The Journal estimates the sale to an anonymous buyer is “one of the most expensive ever completed in New York.” US fund manager Ken Griffin paid around $238 million for an apartment in the same skyscraper at 220 Central Park South in 2019.

Seller Och is worth four billion

61-year-old Och’s fortune is estimated by Forbes at $4.1 billion. Och is the founder and former CEO of New York-based investment fund Och-Ziff Capital Management, now renamed Sculptor. In 2016, his fund had to pay a fine of more than $400 million to US authorities for setting up a corruption network in several African countries.

Och had moved his primary residence to Florida for tax reasons, and the luxury apartment was to serve as his secondary residence. But the billionaire owns another penthouse on the west side of Central Park. According to the Journal, its value is estimated at $57.5 million.
