Unterschleißheim already has experience with leaky roofs. After the problems with the Ballhaus forum, there are now a few difficulties at the community center. There, water seeps through the roof above the ballroom. However, the damage is apparently not nearly as great as in the case of the forum building, which is also in need of renovation in other places. Investigations have shown that there were not enough drain pipes and some drains clog faster than expected. But the necessary work also costs money. The city has now earmarked 300,000 euros to remedy the deficits in the community centre.
Water seeps into the building, especially during heavy rain. In order to keep this under control, temporary sealing has already been carried out at certain points. In addition, a temporary solution was installed in the ballroom: the penetrating water is drained into a rain barrel through an internal drain pipe. Now a permanent solution is needed. The work is to be tackled in stages from July to September. The areas to be processed are protected by a housing so that no water penetrates into the ballroom.
