Unterschleißheim: obituary for Norbert Schindler – district of Munich

The Unterschleißheim CSU mourns the loss of its long-standing municipal and city councilor Norbert Schindler, who died at the age of 81. From 1989 to 1993, the graduate economist was the local chairman of the CSU. From 1990 onwards, the citizens elected him three times, first to the municipal council and then to the city council. In his 18 years on the committee, Schindler worked as a building consultant for the CSU parliamentary group, focusing on the city’s planning and construction and supported the then mayor Rolf Zeitler, who also recently passed away, in the implementation of his ideas and projects.

Schindler was also active as president of the Lohhof sports club for two decades from 1979 and acted as a “great advocate for club and youth issues,” according to a short obituary by the CSU. In 1999, Schindler was awarded the community medal of honor in gold for his services. The CSU now recognizes him as a “sponsor of cultural, social and sporting life”.
