Unterschleißheim – Lohhofer folk festival after two years of abstinence – district of Munich

After two years of abstinence due to the pandemic, Unterschleißheim is preparing for the 69th Lohhofer Volksfest. It is scheduled to run from Friday 3rd June to Sunday 12th June. The beer comes from the Augustiner brewery in Munich and the beer costs 8.80 euros. The Fontenot family with landlady Angelika Fontenot, who is already known as the operator of the Alm from the folk festival, takes over the catering in the festival tent. Lena’s Alm becomes Lena’s marquee with a historic beer garden with brass band music. There should be two more beer gardens, also to make the safety measures that are still necessary due to the corona possible. There should be several stages with live programs. 41 showmen are expected.

Mayor Christoph Böck (SPD) presented the concept for the folk festival on Friday, which can take place again in the usual place where container buildings for the corona test and vaccination center stood for months. Due to the Corona situation, which continues to affect life, the usual procession at the start of the Lohhofer Volksfest is cancelled. Instead, on Saturday, June 4th, there will be a slimmed-down procession of innkeepers, the brewery, the city council and flag delegations from the clubs. According to a statement from the city, the seniors’ afternoon will be redesignated as a seniors’ lunch on all four working days from June 7th to 10th due to the large number of people taking part. Special promotions with reduced prices are planned for Children’s Day and Family Day, June 7th and 12th. On June 9th there will be a big music firework display.

Last summer, the city in Valentinspark enabled a summer festival with booths, rides and limited admission after control as a replacement for the largest folk festival in the district of Munich.
