Friends and political companions of the deceased, but also all citizens have the opportunity on Wednesday, January 25, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and on Thursday and Friday, January 26 and 27, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. to say goodbye in person in the Lohhof funeral parlor on Nelkenstrasse. Zeitler died last Saturday at the age of 79 after a long and serious illness.

From 1989 to 2013, Rolf Zeitler managed the fortunes of the municipality in the town hall. During this time, the CSU politician paved the way for Unterschleißheim’s rise to become an economically successful centre. The town survey fell into his time and also the entry into a sustainable energy supply through the exploitation of geothermal energy. Zeitler was a district councilor until the end and only received the municipal medal of merit in silver from the Bavarian Minister of the Interior in autumn 2021 for his commitment to municipal self-government.

The funeral service will take place on Saturday, January 28th, in the church of St.-Korbinian in Lohhof, starting at 10am. According to a message from the town hall, the funeral will be held at a later date in the immediate family circle.
