Unterschleißheim: farewell to Rolf Zeitler – district of Munich

Rolf Zeitler understood his people from Unterschleißheim like no other. And vice versa. How else could he have risen to become the undisputed political figure in his home municipality over such a long period of time? From 1989 to 2013 he was the head of the town hall. He was elected to office six times. Now the citizens say goodbye to the coffin of the CSU politician who died at the age of 79. Members of associations to which Zeitler always felt connected put up the wake at the funeral parlor of the cemetery on Nelkenstrasse. Representatives of the fire brigade alternate with those of the rifle company or the maypole friends. Party friends pay their last respects to their longtime mentor and many others. This Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. there is one last opportunity to say goodbye personally at the coffin. The funeral service will take place on Saturday at 10 a.m. in the St.-Korbinian church in Lohhof. There will be a book of condolences that you can write in. In the coming week there will also be an opportunity to do so again in the community center.
