Unterhaching: The municipal council meets again in the town hall – district of Munich

A new brown and white building has been standing on Unterhachinger Oberweg, diagonally opposite the Burschenhütte and next to the mustard factory, for two years. Angular and more practical than beautiful, with parking spaces and an underground car park exit. Architecturally not an eye-catcher. One would probably not immediately guess that there is a kindergarten here if there weren’t various climbing frames, sandpits and swings set up at the back. But the children’s home is not just a children’s home. It is the “Children’s Home Plus”. And it has a really fat plus. Like Dany plus cream.

Just like with the well-known pudding in a plastic cup, the plus can also be found at the top of the Unterhachinger children’s home. On top, as they say today. A whole floor up. For clubs, for outsourced town hall factions and for events. Mayor Wolfgang Panzer has recently also frequently called the municipal council into the plus area of the children’s home. But the committee was increasingly annoyed by deliberations about a budget deficit in a “children’s home plus”. It’s on the outskirts of Unterhaching, far away from the town hall. And besides, how does that sound?

You can’t help but imagine the municipal council as a meeting of mothers and fathers at parents’ evenings in day care centers, where grown-up people sit on tiny chairs, demand more variety in the menu or organize the lantern parade. Which of course is not true, because on the plus floor of the children’s home there are also large seating areas, children’s chairs plus. But the name Kinderhaus is of course not really appropriate for serious decisions. It’s just lucky that the house isn’t called “Flea Circus”, “Krümelkiste” or “Fun Dungarees” like other care facilities, and the next day you can read: “The municipal council rejected the budget for the “Angry Dwarfs Plus”.

The mayor had to bow to the vote of the municipal council, from this Wednesday on everyone will meet again in the town hall. It remains to be seen whether plus degrees will prevail there again. Because one of the reasons why Panzer preferred the children’s home plus to the town hall was not the hope of more effectiveness, such as with Aspirin plus for pain or Super plus in the tank. Rather, the reason was that the heating in the large town hall hall was switched off to save energy. This is in line with the district’s climate protection initiative “29++”. If Unterhaching were to build a childcare facility again, a Kinderhaus plus plus would actually be appropriate. But please with cream.
