Unterhaching: Musical “Sleeping Beauty” in the Kubiz district of Munich

Sleeping Beauty, the hundred-year sleep, the castle overgrown by thorns, the prince kissing the princess awake. Who hasn’t heard of this? The ensemble of the Musikbühne Mannheim is showing a cheeky and modern musical adaptation of “Sleeping Beauty” on Sunday, November 13, in the Unterhachinger Kubiz. The story has the classic beginning: the fairy, who takes revenge for not being invited to the princess’s christening party, whereupon she pricks herself with a poisoned spindle at the age of 16 and everything falls into a hundred-year sleep.

100 years later, of course, it is now: the evil fairy is up to mischief as a modern businesswoman, cars drive around without a driver, people hold small black boxes to their ears or – even stranger – in front of their noses. Will it go well in this crazy world, with the modern day prince and sleeping beauty finally waking up from his kiss?

The performance is suitable for children from the age of five, some children from the audience can even play along on Sunday. The children should be between seven and ten years old. You don’t have to learn any texts in advance, as the Unterhaching culture team reports. If you are interested, you can get information and register at the cultural office (phone 089/66 55 53 12). The performance begins at 5 p.m. Tickets are available via e-mail [email protected] or online via https://kubiz-tickets.reservix.de.
