Unterhaching – Austropop in the Kubiz – District of Munich

The art of singing in dialect without sounding awkward or cheesy is generally better mastered by Austrians than their northern neighbors. To put it bluntly: A Viennese or Styrian doesn’t give a shit about being understood in the whole German-speaking world. And some unfathomable, melancholic or even joyful things can simply be expressed more smoothly and poetically in dialect – another reason for the success of the “Austropop” phenomenon.

There will be an opportunity to hear Austropop classics on Friday, September 2nd in Unterhaching. The Austropo cover band “Ménage à Trois” is a guest at the Kubiz on their “Olla’s Leiwand Tour”. Christian A. Rauch (guitar and vocals), Ewald Gauhofer (drums and vocals) and Adomas Kuzinas (keyboards and vocals) will present the big hits by STS, Reinhard Fendrich, Wolfgang Ambros and Seiler & Speer, but also lesser-known songs. The trio from Styria promises to guarantee “the greatest possible authenticity simply through the melody of the language”. In terms of musicality and joy of playing, they want to leave nothing to be desired. In their program, Ménage à Trois bring the country’s Austropop greats to the stage, but the “young wild ones” such as Seiler & Speer (“Ham kummst”) are also honored.

The concert starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are available in advance at Kubiz (Phone: 089/665 55 316) or online at https://kubiz-tickets.reservix.de. The evening box office opens one hour before the performance. More information is available at www.unterhaching.de/kultur.
