Unterföhring: exchange instead of throwing away – district of Munich

Many well-preserved things that are no longer needed are too good to throw away. They often make other people happy. This idea is the basis of the so-called recycling cabinets, which a Munich association has been spreading since 2020 for the sake of sustainability. A circulation cabinet usually consists of a fixed shelf with a weatherproof roof, in which well-preserved items can be put in and taken out, uncomplicated and free of charge. Such an exchange shelf has been in Unterföhring for a few days: the “chat and exchange mobile”. Until the end of March, it can be filled and visited on the forecourt of the VHS and the music school, not far from the S-Bahn station.

If you find something you can use, you take it. The fact that the fun and exchange mobile, on loan from the Circulation Cabinets Association around Hannah Patalong, is now in Unterföhring for four months on a trial basis goes back to an initiative of the Network Future Unterfairing. The members will take care of the swap mobile, which is intended to complement facilities such as bookcases, “hangers” and “shopping in the shed”. If the mobile proves its worth, a fixed exchange station can be set up.
