Unterföhring: community wants to be bike-friendly – district of Munich

The first stage has been completed: The municipality of Unterföhring has now been accepted as a member of the Association of Cycle-Friendly Municipalities in Bavaria (AGFK). At an event organized by the Bavarian Ministry of Transport in Munich, Mayor Andreas Kemmelmeyer (PWU) and mobility manager Caroline Borus received the membership certificate from Ministerial Director Thomas Gruber and Matthias Dießl, Chairman of AGFK Bayern and District Administrator of the Fürth district, as stated in a statement from the Unterföhring town hall from Monday is called.

The prerequisite for admission to the AGFK was a successful pre-trip, i.e. an on-site visit at which an evaluation committee had determined at the end of July 2022 that the community met the requirements. In order to receive the award as a “bicycle-friendly municipality” in 2026, the municipality still has to meet a number of requirements. According to the town hall, one of the important tasks will be to make neuralgic points in the Unterföhring transport network safer for cyclists.
