Unter Bayern – The three moments of the week – Bavaria

It’s Friday again, and it’s not exactly that the stories are lying around on the street. While browsing through the glossy memories of the past few days, the business trip to TSV Böbrach comes to mind, whereby one can certainly ask oneself why one sacrifices a Sunday to drive 225 kilometers into the Bavarian Forest to visit the worst football club in Bavaria . On the other hand, there is this moment when a guy with the beer bottle stands up next to the post and gives the home goalkeeper the advice: “You have to play more forward.” When he has received about the 15th hit, the goalkeeper then hits the lawn: “Sackcloth”, he curses. A compassionate “Omei” escapes the SZ reporter, to which the goalkeeper replies: “Biting through, doesn’t help.”

Moment two then in Straubing on the trotting track, where you can certainly ask yourself why you drive 185 kilometers to watch a trotting race almost without an audience. The SZ reporter then says to one of these wiry old sulky drivers that he only remembers one name from his childhood on the trotting track in Daglfing and nothing else: Biendl. “I’m the one,” replies the man.

A dark green BMW 740 serves as the starting car for the races in Straubing. Two long arms protrude from its rear that can be folded out and in. The driver, a cool dog with a mullet, points out the armored windows to the reporter: The car was Franz Josef Strauss’s state limousine. But he didn’t like the color, which is why the 740 has to do its rounds on the Straubing harness racing track until the end of the day.

Moment three in the mountain forest on Schliersee. It doesn’t matter if you have to drive 38 kilometers in the morning to watch the forest farmer Michael Lechner saw down a spruce tree in the steep terrain. He reassures the reporter that his trees have still really fallen. The huge spruce then falls as calculated. Then Lechner thanks for the visit with ten eggs.

Seen in this way, the job as a journalist in Bavaria isn’t all that boring.
