Young players should listen a lot more to their elders: at least that’s what Cristiano Ronaldo says. The Portuguese criticizes the current attitude of the youngsters.

United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has slammed the younger generation players for their attitude. They should listen to older players a lot more, according to the 36-year-old.

“The mature, older players can always help the youngsters,” stressed the Portuguese in an interview Premier League Productions: “For example, if I give you some advice but you don’t incorporate it into your daily life, it becomes difficult.”

Compared to before, according to Ronaldo, the current generation cannot deal with criticism. “When I was 18, 19, 20 years old, older players wanted to talk to me. They were more experienced than me and had a lot of bad moments, so I took it like I had to improve,” added CR7: “But other people don’t accept it when you criticize them.”

Cristiano Ronaldo: “… then do the opposite”

At the same time, the five-time world footballer emphasized that these statements were not related to his United teammates. “I’m saying that in general terms. I have kids, I know what it’s like,” he explained.

If you’re tougher, “they do the opposite. So you have to find the right balance to talk to them,” added Ronaldo. In his opinion, “the most important thing is that it comes from within. You should be proud of yourself, look in the mirror and say: ‘I’ll give it my all!'”
