Here is what changes from this Wednesday, February 1, 2023.

Extension of the tariff shield on electricity

The extension in 2023 of the tariff shield includes, from February 1, a limited increase in electricity tariffs of 15% for households, small businesses and small municipalities.

Increase in the rate of booklet A

As announced by the Minister of Economy, Finance and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty, Bruno Le Maire, the passbook A rate goes from 2 to 3% on February 1, 2023.

The Sustainable and Solidarity Development Booklet (LDDS) will also benefit from this 3% increase. The rate of the popular savings account when it will be 6.1%.

Unemployment insurance reform

The unemployment insurance reform, which applies from February 1, 2023, varies unemployment benefits according to the state of the labor market.

The goal is to make the system more responsive to economic conditions : encourage job seekers more to find a job when job opportunities are plentiful, and protect them more when they diminish.

As of February 1, this new system will come into effect:
the duration of compensation for new job seekers will be reduced by 25% while still remaining longer than 6 months.

Given their specific economic situation, the reform will not apply in the overseas departments.

In a “favorable epidemic context”, the Directorate General for Health (DGS) announced several changes taking effect on February 1, 2023:

  • end of derogatory work stoppages, with no waiting day for people who tested positive for Covid-19;
  • end of the systematic isolation of positive cases and the carrying out of a test after two days for their contacts;
  • end of follow-up of contact cases via the Covid contact servicemanaged by health insurance.

Energy renovation

In order to continue energy savings in housingthe Government is strengthening the budget for the “MaprimeRénov” scheme.

From February 1:

  • the ceiling for work within the framework of MaPrimeRénov’ condominiums will be raised from 15,000 euros to 25,000 euros and the individual premiums paid to households with very modest and modest incomes will be doubled to 3,000 euros and 1,500 euros;
  • the ceiling for work within the framework of MaPrimeRénov’ Serenity will be raised from 30,000 euros to 35,000 euros;
  • the “global renovation” packages for households with intermediate and higher resources will be increased to 10,000 euros and 5,000 euros.

The success of MaPrimeRénov’

According to the National Housing Agency (ANAH), in charge of MaPrimeRénov’ distribution, 670,000 energy renovations took place in 2022 for 3.1 billion euros in aid distributed.
