Under “Reich citizen” suspicion – head of nursing services in custody – Bavaria

According to the authorities, a 63-year-old operator of two care service companies from the Upper Palatinate should not have paid social security contributions. The public prosecutor’s office and the main customs office in Regensburg announced on Thursday that the man’s business and living quarters were searched in the morning. The man has not yet commented on the allegations. It was said that he was suspected of belonging to the “Reichsbürger” scene.

The man was arrested on Thursday, but on the basis of an arrest warrant in connection with another process that was already ongoing at the district court in Weiden. According to a judicial spokesman, this involves, among other things, attempted coercion and insults to a bailiff and police officers. Because there was a suspicion that the man had sharp weapons and attack dogs, special security measures were required during the operation, the authorities said. The searching officers were protected by special units. A total of around 100 employees from customs and the police were involved.

The officials had secured numerous documents and technical equipment. Weapons were not found. Two dogs present behaved peacefully, said a spokesman for the authorities. The entrepreneur from the Neustadt an der Waldnaab district is accused of not having paid the on-call times of nurses who were used in 24-hour care. The nursing staff live with the customers to be cared for so that they can always be available if necessary.

According to the information, the deployment was preceded by several months of investigations. The suspicion of the man arose during checks by employees of the financial control for undeclared work at the main customs office in Regensburg, it said. Due to comparable allegations from the years 2015 and 2016, charges against the accused are already pending at the public prosecutor’s office in Regensburg.
