Unknown perpetrators shot at the car of a close adviser to Ukrainian President Zelenskyi. The driver was seriously injured. The police are investigating attempted murder.
In Ukraine, the car of President Volodymyr Zelenskyi’s assistant was shot at. The driver of the car was seriously injured by the gunshots from automatic weapons, the police said. The assistant Serhiy Schefir himself was therefore unharmed.
In total, more than ten shots were fired at the vehicle a few kilometers south of the capital Kiev. The police are on a special mission to track down the unknown shooters for attempted murder. The background is still unclear.

Several attacks on politicians
Shefir and Zelenskyj have been working together for years, even before the head of state took office in 2019. However, according to media reports, the assistant’s relations with the president have recently deteriorated.
Like Selenskyj, 57-year-old Schefir comes from the industrial city of Krywy Rig. He acted as the producer of the television series “Servants of the People”, in which the future head of state played a teacher who unexpectedly becomes president. Several attacks on politicians and journalists had been carried out in Ukraine in recent years.
