4.45 a.m.: The Ukrainian Air Force has warned of missile attacks on the West. Residents of Lviv should go to shelters, it said on Telegram. According to the mayor’s information, 20 rockets and several drones were fired from Russia, but there were no impacts. Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko also reported attacks and explosions. The air defense is in operation, he wrote on Telegram. Debris from a rocket that was fired fell into a forest and set it on fire. There was an air alert across Ukraine early on Sunday morning.

Poland has sent fighter jets into the air to monitor the situation following reports of Russian missile attacks in western Ukraine. This was announced by the operational command of the Polish Air Force on X.

9:57 p.m.: The Russian naval port of Sevastopol on the occupied Crimean peninsula is again the target of Ukrainian drone and missile attacks. Russian anti-aircraft defense shot down over ten missiles and numerous drones in the evening, reports the state agency Tass. Shortly before, traffic over the Crimean Bridge between the peninsula and the Russian mainland had been temporarily stopped. On Telegram, Ukrainian Air Force Commander Mykola Oleschuk thanked his pilots and the Navy for the mission: “Air and sea have the same color,” he alluded to the firelight.

According to Russian reports, a woman and a child were injured in the attack on Sevastopol. Reports of serious explosions in the port of Sevastopol and possible hits on a ship moored there are circulating on social media. The reports could not be independently confirmed.

The Russian military, for its part, targeted the eastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv. According to Ukrainian media reports, several rockets hit the city during the day. At least one person was killed.

1:12 p.m.: According to information from Moscow, the Russian army has captured another village in eastern Ukraine. The Russian armed forces have “liberated the village of Krasnoye” near Bakhmut, explains the Defense Ministry in Moscow. The ministry uses the old Russian name for the Ukrainian town of Ivanivske.

At the end of February, Ukraine reported heavy fighting in the region. Russian soldiers would try to advance towards Chasiv Yar, a strategically important location since Bakhmut was captured by the Russian army in May 2023.

7:39 a.m.: According to authorities, another oil refinery is burning in the Russian region of Samara on the Volga following a suspected Ukrainian drone attack. The Russian Ministry of Defense reports on Telegram that a total of twelve drones were destroyed over the Bryansk (five), Belgorod (five), Voronezh (one) and Saratov (one) regions. In addition, eleven rockets were destroyed over the Belgorod border region. The governor of the Bryansk region, Alexander Bogomas, said on his Telegram channel that there were no injuries or damage as a result of rubble.
