With a view to anti-Russian and anti-Ukrainian crimes in Germany, Interior Minister Faeser warns against Russian propaganda and hate speech by right-wing extremists. The state has a duty to protect.

Federal Interior Minister Nancy Faeser wants to prevent the Ukraine war from being carried into German society.

“That’s why we defend ourselves so clearly against Russian lies and propaganda. And we have to keep a close eye on how much danger Russian and Ukrainian citizens are in Germany, »said the SPD politician of the Funke media group. So far, since the Russian invasion began six weeks ago, the authorities in this country have recorded 383 anti-Russian crimes and 181 anti-Ukrainian crimes – mostly insults, property damage, but also some acts of violence. “For us it is clear: We protect every person in our country.”

You can also see that right-wing extremists want to use the war for themselves – “just as they try to abuse every crisis for their hate speech,” said Faeser. “The security authorities are looking very closely at who is glorifying Putin’s war of aggression.” Refugee Ukrainians are very hurt when the Z symbol is shown here. «The Z is a symbol of approval and support for the criminal Russian war of aggression – and can therefore be prosecuted as a criminal offense in Germany. I am in favor of consistent action whenever the threshold of criminal liability is crossed.” The state also has a protective mandate here.
