Ukraine-News: EU wants special court for Russia’s crimes in Ukraine

Before the interior ministers’ conference of the federal and state governments, the German Association of Cities is calling for more support in accommodating refugees. The longer the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine lasts, the more people will have to leave their country, says Helmut Dedy, general manager of the city council, of the Funke media group. The federal states would have to “significantly increase the places in their reception facilities and build additional permanent accommodation ready for occupancy”. In addition, the cities must be involved immediately when the federal and state governments talk about refugee movements and situation reports, Dedy demands. “Even if no one can predict the future, we need planning bases so that containers can be set up, beds can be bought and tent cities can be erected.”
