Uber benefits from return to office – Economy

The taxi and delivery service Uber has exceeded market expectations in terms of sales and profits thanks to the stable demand for its services. Revenues rose by 16 percent to 10.7 billion dollars in the second quarter. Bookings increased by 19 percent to 39.95 billion dollars. The US company announced this on Tuesday. Net profit reached 1.6 billion dollars.

Analysts had forecast slightly less, with sales of $10.57 billion and profits of $1.51 billion. “While there was some doubt about consumer spending on restaurants and deliveries, we see no impact today,” said CEO Dara Khosrowshahi.

He announced that adjusted core earnings would rise to between $1.58 billion and $1.68 billion in the third quarter. Analysts are expecting an average profit of $1.62 billion for this period. As more and more people return to the office from their home offices, demand for ridesharing has increased in recent months. Companies like Uber are benefiting from this.
