Two people killed in passenger plane crash

The brutal accident occurred at 8:29 a.m. in the town of La Bretonnière-la-Claye, near Luçon, in the south of the Vendée department. Two people died this Monday morning in the crash of a tourist plane which crashed into the wall of a house, we learned from the prosecutor’s office and firefighters.

“Two people who were on board a small two-seater tourist plane died,” confirmed the La Roche-sur-Yon public prosecutor’s office. When help arrived, “the plane was completely destroyed,” firefighters said.

An investigation was opened to determine the causes of the accident, according to the same source.

A medico-psychological emergency cell

Thirty firefighters were deployed on site, divided into two teams, to extinguish the debris and find the victims. A team of deminers was also “hired to neutralize the pyrotechnic means of the device”, add the Vendée firefighters, who specify that two people were rehoused by the municipality.

The rest of the operations are taken care of by the national gendarmerie and the intervention zone is prohibited from access until Tuesday evening.

A medical-psychological emergency unit was also set up and offered to residents of the crash area.
