ZDF starts with a new season of “Bergretter” – and immediately wins the primetime ratings. Hot on their heels is the “Croatia crime thriller” in the first.

Homeland and crime series are a safe bet in Germany: The first episode of the new season of the ZDF series “Die Bergretter” took the lead on Thursday evening with 5.74 million (market share 21.0 percent) in German prime time. But the first held up well. There, as in the previous week, the series “The Croatia crime thriller” ran again. The case “Split never forgets” with Jasmin Gerat and Lenn Kudrjawizki attracted an average of 5.44 million (19.9 percent) to the screen.

The ProSieben show “Germany’s Next Topmodel – by Heidi Klum” came third in prime time with 1.70 million viewers (7.1 percent).

The RTL prevention show “Caution, Crime!” reached an average of 1.63 million (6.2 percent) and the five-year-old action film “Tomb Raider” on Vox with Alicia Vikander 1.39 million (5.5 percent).

It was followed by the docu-soap “Roadtrip America – Three Top Chefs on Four Wheels” on Kabel eins (760,000/2.9 percent), the new French drama series “Deadly Intuition” on Sat.1 (650,000; 2.5 percent) and RTLzwei Social report “Hard Germany – life in focus” (610,000; 2.4 percent).
