Tüßling: Nena concert in Altötting canceled – Bavaria

The singer’s appearance in Altötting does not take place. It can no longer be denied that Nena “supports certain ideologies”, announced the organizer.

A concert by the singer Nena in Upper Bavaria has been canceled by the organizer because of the discussions about her stance on corona rules. The concert planned for August 19th in Tüßling (Altötting district) will not take place, COFO Entertainment announced on its website.

It can no longer be denied that Nena “supports certain ideologies”, the organizer said. Although Nena distanced herself from a “lateral thinker” a few weeks ago, there have recently been more and more “negative headlines”.

Concerts in other German locations had also been canceled. In July, a Nena concert in Berlin was ended prematurely due to non-compliance with the corona measures.

CoFo managing director Oliver Forster sees the cancellation of the concert in the Altötting district as an unavoidable step: “We want to spread joy and a positive atmosphere with our concerts. That would have been difficult with the latest developments,” he said. “We like to offer a cultural, diverse stage every year – but it shouldn’t be a political stage”.

Nena has sparked discussions several times during the pandemic. In March, she published a video on Instagram with the title “Thank you Kassel” after thousands of people protested against Corona measures in the city. In October, Nena triggered discussions about possible conspiracy theories with a post on Instagram, but emphasized that she did not want to be understood as a corona denier.
