The notoriously weak Turkish opposition did a lot of things right this time. Despite the enormous ideological range within its six-party alliance, it has agreed on a uniform program for the parliamentary and presidential elections. It also wants to nominate a joint candidate for the May elections to take on Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, a well-versed Bosphorus populist who has managed to stay in power for 20 consecutive years.
