Sports director Alexander Rosen and the management met in the morning. The training-free Monday for the team has been cancelled. TSG lost 5-2 at VfL Bochum the day before and are finally deep in the relegation battle.
Breitenreiter is under a lot of pressure, even though former German international Sebastian Rudy defended him after the renewed bankruptcy in Bochum: “We have to stand together as a team. Breitenreiter came last summer as FC Zurich’s master coach and successor to Sebastian Hoeneß, who had to go after a similar negative series. That’s one of the reasons why Rosen said to the coaching discussion on Saturday: “It’s too easy to just take one. Maybe we have to ask bigger questions here.” Breitenreiter and his team were in fourth place in the table; Hoffenheim have long since lost sight of their original goal of participating in the Europa League.
