Trip to Laos: The country in Southeast Asia is so timelessly beautiful

Laos has preserved many traditions over the centuries. Those who visit the country learn to appreciate its meditative slowness.

Maybe it was just an anecdote, but Ken cared about it. On an autumn morning, I walked with Ken down Luang Prabang’s main street, past Buddhist temples and palaces under palm trees. The 67,000-inhabitant city in the mountainous north of Laos is a place where there are three dominant colors: the gold of the temples, the green of the jungle, the orange of the monks’ robes.
