Trial of alleged violent left-wing offenders in Dresden

Left protests at the Higher Regional Court

So far, the Senate has invited 48 witnesses and three experts to start the process. The deadline is before Christmas and, as a precaution, again until the end of March 2022. Violent criticism comes from the left and radical left scene, which speaks of a “political process”. According to reporters, up to 120 demonstrators from the Solibündnis Antifa Ost have gathered in front of the Dresden Higher Regional Court since Wednesday morning before the start of the negotiations.

We demand that Karlsruhe submit the case and that this case is not negotiated under Section 129.

In any case, this paragraph – which concerns the formation of criminal organizations – should be abolished. There is already a preliminary conviction of the accused. “We are here because consistent anti-fascism is necessary and legitimate.” The alliance will continuously accompany the process. There is also financial support for those affected.

Serious allegations against Lina E.

The student is said to be the head of the militant left-wing extremist group. All members shared a “militant left-wing extremist ideology,” declared the federal prosecutor’s office. The group is not a strictly hierarchical organization. But there was a “clear division of roles”. They were “methodical, organized and professional” in the attacks. Under her command, people from the right-wing scene in Wurzen, Leipzig and Thuringia are said to have been attacked and beaten up between 2018 and 2020, according to the accusation of the federal prosecutor’s office.

These are the incidents
October 30, 2018 – In Wurzen, a person belonging to the right-wing scene is beaten up by masked people.

January 8, 2019 – A sewer worker with an apparently right-wing extremist sign on his cap is beaten up by masked people in Leipzig-Connewitz.

October 19, 2019 -The operator and guests of a right-wing scene meeting in Eisenach are attacked and injured by masked people with batons and irritant gas, among other things.

December 14, 2019 – The operator of the right scene meeting in Eisenach is attacked again and seriously injured.

February 15, 2020 – An apparently right-wing group is attacked at Wurzen train station and seriously injured with kicks and blows.

Lina E. was arrested on November 5, 2020 – shortly before another alleged attack. She has been in custody ever since. The other three suspects are at large. You can find more details about the indictment and the background here.

Solidarity campaign in Dresden

Even the arrest of Lina E. triggered solidarity actions and criminal acts, up to arson on vehicles of the federal police, armed forces or companies, said the spokeswoman for the State Office for the Protection of the Constitution. The authority also sees a risk of left-wing extremist criminal and violent offenses during the trial, including elsewhere in Germany. A spontaneous demonstration had already taken place on Tuesday evening to mark the start of the process. According to the “Free Lina Dresden” alliance, up to 100 demonstrators have marched through Dresden Neustadt to show solidarity with Lina E. and Antifa Ost.
