When he tried to tie her up, according to the indictment, the woman was able to flee naked from the apartment. The 34-year-old defendant denies the act. At first the two went for a walk together, at the second meeting they ate dinner in a restaurant on Leopoldstrasse. The 32-year-old then accompanied Dominik A. to his apartment.
The defendant is said to have groped Sofia O. there. She is said to have said that she did not want this and now wanted to go home. The 34-year-old is said to have exploited his physical superiority and raped the woman twice. When he took out an ankle strap from under the bed and tried to wrap it around the woman’s wrist, she screamed and ran naked from the apartment, according to the public prosecutor’s office. Dominik A. is said to have brought her clothes into the hallway.
Defense attorney Julia Weinmann explains at the beginning of the process that her client will neither comment on the matter nor on the person. In addition, the indictment is “fully disputed”. Dominik A. was arrested a few days after the alleged crime. Since the audio-visual interrogation of Sofia O. could not take place on time, Dominik A. had to be released from custody in August 2020 due to the principle of acceleration. Exactly one year later, in July 2021, a court issued a new arrest warrant against A. due to the risk of obscuration.
Sofia O.’s testimony took place on Tuesday in camera. A verdict is due to be pronounced on October 29th.
