Portugal soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has denied reports of a deal with Saudi club Al-Nassr.

“No, that’s not true,” Ronaldo told reporters after beating Switzerland 6-1 in the World Cup round of 16 as he left the stadium. The Spanish newspaper “Marca” had previously reported that Ronaldo had agreed a two-and-a-half-year contract with the Saudi Arabian club. The total volume of the deal should be around 200 million euros per year including advertising revenue.

Ronaldo has been without a club since leaving Manchester United just before the season and could therefore move on a free transfer. However, English and Portuguese media reported the 37-year-old superstar wants to continue playing at the highest level in the Champions League. Chelsea FC and Paris Saint-Germain, already overcrowded with superstars Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé and Neymar, are considered potential prospects for a commitment.

Ronaldo came on as a substitute in the 74th minute of the 6-1 win against Switzerland, and his substitute Gonçalo Ramos scored three goals to qualify for the World Cup quarter-finals.
