Borussia Mönchengladbach is said to have agreed with goalkeeper Jonas Omlin from HSC Montpellier about a change in January.

Borussia Mönchengladbach is said to have agreed with goalkeeper Jonas Omlin from HSC Montpellier about a change in January.

According to information from the Swiss newspaper “Blick”, the national keeper of Switzerland on the Lower Rhine should receive a contract until 2027. This was also reported by Sky Sport News. A move by the 29-year-old to Gladbach is a prerequisite for Borussia letting his compatriot Yann Sommer move to Bayern Munich.

Sommer, whose contract in Gladbach expires in the summer, is set to replace Manuel Neuer at the German record champions, who will not be able to play again this season due to a broken leg. According to media reports, Bayern have now offered Borussia eight million euros plus bonus payments for the 34-year-old.

This should be roughly the amount with which Gladbach would have to buy Omlin out of his contract in Montpellier, which lasted until 2024. However, an agreement with the French club is reportedly pending. Montpellier plays against relegation.

So far, Borussia has not wanted to comment on the alleged transfer negotiations. Only with Sven Ulreich (34) and Johannes Schenk (20) do Munich not want to start the rest of the round. “We will make a decision calmly, we will think carefully about what the right solution can be,” said Bayern CEO Oliver Kahn at the German Football League’s New Year’s reception.
