FC Bayern Munich’s million-dollar poker game involving Liverpool’s star striker Sadio Mané seems to be entering the final phase.

According to media information from England, the German record champions are said to have come closer to the demands of the Premier League club. According to the newspaper “Mirror”, Bayern’s sports director Hasan Salihamidzic is in Liverpool for talks.

According to “Sky Sports”, the next round of negotiations between the clubs is underway. Bayern really want to bring the 30-year-old international from Senegal to Munich. Upon request, there was initially no confirmation from the Bavarian side of an agreement that had already been circulated. Before a transfer can be completed, Mané would also have to complete the obligatory medical check-up with his new employer. A transfer fee with a total volume of around 40 million euros is under discussion.

Mane transfer enjoys priority at FC Bayern

A transfer from Mané enjoys priority for the German series champion. An implementation could also bring movement in the personnel of Robert Lewandowski (33). The world footballer wants to leave FC Bayern one year before the contract expires. The goal of the Polish goalscorer is FC Barcelona. So far, however, there is still a statement from the Bayern management around CEO Oliver Kahn that the world footballer will not be allowed to go this summer.

Lewandowski’s contract in Munich, like Mané’s in Liverpool, expires on June 30, 2023. Coach Jürgen Klopp’s club initially thought a transfer fee of £42.5 million, the equivalent of EUR 49.75 million, was reportedly a reasonable transfer fee. Bayern had agreed to work with the attacker early on. A three-year contract is under discussion for Mané, who could also play in the center of attack, where Lewandowski has been active so far.

According to media reports, Liverpool had rejected the first two Bayern offers for Mané. Most recently, there was talk of a further improved offer. According to the “Bild” newspaper, this should be a fixed fee of 35 million euros and five million euros of possible bonus payments. This amount would total the almost 40 million euros that Liverpool paid to Southampton FC for Mané in 2016. The “Reds” have already found a replacement for Mané with the just completed transfer of millions from striker Darwin Nunez from Benfica Lisbon.
