The direct rail connection between Munich and Zurich with the Eurocity Express (ECE) will be temporarily cut in October and early November. From October 13th to 20th and from October 26th to November 2nd, Deutsche Bahn (DB) is combining several construction projects on the route between Munich and Lindau. According to the DB, there are outages between Munich and Lindau-Reutin. The ECE will then only run between Lindau-Reutin and Zurich. The Memmingen, Buchloe and Munich Central Station stations will no longer be available.
There will also be severe restrictions between Munich and Salzburg from October 15th to November 4th due to construction work. The route will be single-track at times, but at other times it will be completely closed. From October 15th to 25th, half of the trains between Munich and Salzburg on the Munich-Salzburg-Klagenfurt EC line will be canceled; from October 26th to November 4th, this part of the route will be completely closed. Trains to Vienna are being rerouted via Passau. The timetable changes cannot yet be fully reflected in the information and booking systems. The DB recommends using the DB Navigator or shortly before starting your journey bahn.de to inform.
