Ottmar Edenhofer, 60, is the director of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research. He is considered an expert in the field of CO₂ pricing and advised Pope Francis in addition to the federal government. At the Technical University of Berlin, he holds a chair on the economics of climate change. Last year he was awarded the Environment Prize of the Federal Environment Foundation.
