Toyota teams up with Astar to launch Web3 hackathon for $100,000

Automotive giant Toyota is delving into blockchain use cases through Participate in the Web3 Hackathon for Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) developers.

On February 1, Astar, a multichain smart contract network and decentralized application (dApp), announcedWeb3 hackathon launched, sponsored by Toyota Motor Corporation

Sota Watanabe, founder of Astar Network, commented on the importance of Toyota’s involvement.

We aim to develop the first PoC (Proof of Concept) DAO tool for Toyota employees. It will allow Toyota employees to interact with products on the Astar Network every day.”

This also marks Toyota’s first Web3 event as the company looks at new technologies to “support the company’s vision of improving operations.”

The Astar Foundation has pledged $100,000 for the event. which will be used as prizes for winning projects

Participants will have to develop all their products on Astar Network, a Japanese layer-1 blockchain, to be held in Astar’s Polkadot-based COZMISE metaverse.
